Lion Marcy Harrell
(#17) won the Tail Twisterís pot on the first
drawing. There were no guests and our attendance was
22 members present.
The final auction
committee meeting will be Thursday, January 4th
at 7:00 PM at Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. We
will talk about what went well and what needs
improvement and divide up the proceeds from the
January 9th at 7:00 PM at Forest Home
Church of the Nazarene, we will have a car show
meeting stuffing envelopes for the mailing to
exhibitors. All Car Show Committee members need to
attend. Our Car Show dates will be March 24 and 25.
Lion Bryan Ulmer for being named "Lion of the
Quarter". He is being recognized for his tireless
efforts on Dyeannís House including the fund raiser,
board meetings, work days and the Lions TV Auction.
Citation Award was awarded to Lion Brad Baker for
organizing the Lions TV Auction and helping to raise
We will have a flag
day on Monday, January 15th for Martin
Luther King, Jr. and Robert E. Lee birthdays. There
will be a sign up sheet next Tuesday for working
this flag day.
Our speaker this
week was Rennell Woods, Director of City Youth
Ministries. Rennell talked about the many activities
for our Jonesboro youth. He stated that 171 families
were fed meals at Thanksgiving, 386 kids from 86
families were presented with toys and gifts at
Christmas. On March 8th, there will be a
banquet celebrating 10 years of operation of the
City Youth Ministries at St. Bernards Auditorium. A
table for 8 will cost $600.00. This fund raiser will
go towards the debt retirement of City Youth. Their
program is centered at serving "at risk" youth and
to have drug free youth.
January 9th, our program will be brought
by Mark Frankum with the Jonesboro Flight Station.
Board of Directors
meeting will be Thursday, January 11th,
at Couchís Restaurant, 6:30AM.
January 6th, will be a work day at
Dyeannís House. Lion Bryan Ulmer says he needs a few
Lions to do some clean up and painting starting at
