We had our first meeting at our new interim meeting place at Al’s Family Restaurant located at 1014 Gee Street.  The food was great and the service will be better next week.  Our attendance was 20 members present.

Lion Curt Hodges (#8) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.

Lion Secretary and Past District Governor Pat Snodgrass was awarded, by Lions International, the Leo Advisory Award for his work in organizing the two Leo Clubs at the Valley View Schools.

Major Craig Greenham, with the Salvation Army, was our speaker this week.  Major Greenham has been associated with the Salvation Army since 1992 serving in Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.  He has been the pastor of the Jonesboro Salvation Army since 2004.  The Salvation Army served 500 families and over 2000 children with Christmas presents this past Christmas.  It also operates the homeless shelter for needy people in our area.

Our Board of Directors will meet January 15 at 6:30 AM at Couch’s Restaurant.

There will be a Car Show Committee meeting on January 19 at 7:00 PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene.  We will stuff envelopes with invitations and registrations for our 2009 Auto Show in April.
