UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS LIONS CLUB

Tuesday - January 13, 2015

This Tuesday morning’s weekly meeting of the Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club  feature a presentation by Gary Harpole on the Greensborough Village Town Center to be developed on a more than 200-acre site on East Johnson Avenue (US 49) between ASU and the Arkansas 351 intersection. He said some work has begun at the site and officials expect completion within seven to 10 years of the project, which is a new concept here.

Harpole said the development will include a mix of residential and commercial , including some 200 single-family residences. He said the development is the largest single development since Arkansas State University.

The meeting was called to order at 6:46 a.m. at Chef’s In Buffet, 105 Burke Ave., by Lion President Jim Watkins with 21 members and Harpole in attendance. Lion Tamer Bill Dickens started the show with a couple of stories and the pot drawing, which was awarded to perennial winner Ron McCormick, Badge 48. The song was led by Lion Jim  Mashburn, pledge by Lion Eric Grant and the prayer by Lion Ken Stallings.
