At our Tuesday morning meeting this week, Pat Snodgrass [#31] won the Tail
Twisters' pot. [He had been spotted going through the numbers before the
drawing, but apparently not all the numbers in the jar were 31, so it may
have been legit after all.]
Attendance was 17, plus our speaker.
--Flags. Flags will go out next Monday for MLK Day [Jan.
20] - watch your email for the sign-up list. NEW LOCK & COMBINATION: The
shackle on the old lock on the flag barn completely rusted through recently,
and the lock was found lying on the ground. (Nothing appears to have been
stolen from the barn.) A new Magnum Master combination lock has been
installed, with a letter combination, not a number one. The 4-letter
combination is _______. [This email will vanish in a puff of virtual smoke in
2.6 minutes from now, so be sure to memorize the new combination before
--Car Show Committee. The committee will continue its series
of Monday evening meetings at 6:30 p.m. next Monday, Jan. 20, at Suddenlink

--MD 7 Mid-Winter Forum. The state Lions Mid-Winter Leadership Forum in
Russellville on Feb. 1st is looking for Lions to attend. The club will pay
the $50 registration fee for members interested in attending - so far only
Brad Baker has said that he will go. A final call will be taken at the
monthly club Business Meeting next Tuesday, Jan. 21st. These are very
informative sessions, especially for new Lions. Let Secretary Charles
Hartwig know if you are interested.
Speaker: January Program Chair Ken Stallings introduced the speaker, Eric
Simmons, Division Chief of Training in the Jonesboro Fire Department. He
gave a very informative talk about the JFD, telling about things such as the
seven stations, the city's ISO 3 rating, and the nearly 4000 alarms answered
last year - including 2492 medical runs [which were done free of charge].
The meeting was adjourned at 7:28 am.
