Lion Bill Dickens
congratulated the club on the Pecan Sale project.
The sale went so well we had to reorder more pecans
to sell 3 times. The final results of the profit on
the Pecan Sale is not completely totaled as yet but
the December 31 financial report shows an income of
$4,179.00 with more sales to be accounted for yet.
Great job Lions Dickens and Stallings, Chairmen, and
all Lions who bought and sold pecans.
We had a rain out
for displaying the flags on Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Robert E Lee Birthdays and our next flag day
will be February 19 for Presidents Day. Lion Ed
Larson has agreed to be the Flag Project Committee
Chairman. After the Car Show is completed, we will
have a campaign to sell more flag contracts.
Lion PDG Pat
Snodgrass has asked to be placed on Member at Large
status for 6 months due to having knee surgery. Lion
Larry Hinck has agreed to be our Sight and Hearing
Committee Chairman. Lion Jim Hall will be having
surgery next week. Keep him and Lion Jim McAlister
in your thoughts and prayers.
NEW MEMBERS - We
are desperately needing new members for our club.
Our membership is now at its lowest number ever at
39 including our members at large and affiliate
members. When talking to a prospective member, ask
the prospect to view our website at
information about our club and Lions projects we are
involved with. It is a good recruiting tool. Invite
a guest next week. Remember for each new member you
will receive a free dinner for 2 and for 2 new
members, you will receive a dinner and movie for 2.
More Lady Lions are needed for our club.
Governor Lion Norine Westerbeck has asked our club
to host the 2007 District 7 - 0 Fall Converence.
Lion Norine is also the Area Representative for
National Camps for Blind Children which our club
supports by sending a donation this month in the
amount of $450.00.
The dates of our
Car Show are March 24 and 25. Lion Brad asks us to
start gathering the goody bag items and door prizes
for the show.
Our program, next
Tuesday, will be given by Mr. Doug Dogett with St.
Bernard's Regional Medical Center. Thanks to Lion
Ron Erwin for the excellent programs during the
month of January. Lion Bobby Wood will be our
program chairman for the month of February.
