Lion Bryan Ulmer (#56) won the
Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.
Robbie Redmon, nephew of
Lion Dave Redmon was our only guest. Attendance was 27 members
and 2 guests.
Thanks to all those members
who braved the cold weather working White Cane last Friday and
Saturday. Our collection was $1,563. A big Lions’ Roar goes to
Lion Gary Glisson for chairing White Cane and working the extra
shifts where we didn’t have Lions to cover.
Our Car Show is now only 5
weeks away and we really need sponsors and program ads. The
deadline to receive all media advertising is February 15th
and the deadline to receive print advertising is March 7th.
Door prizes and goody bag items need to be collected by March 8th.
The Car Show is our primary fund raising project and one in
which we need every member working to have a successful show.
The next Car Show Committee meeting will be Tuesday, February 15th,
at 7:00 PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. Every
member is invited to attend.
February 21st is
our next Flag Day for Presidents Day. Sign up next week for your
favorite flag route. As a reminder, if you have any stray flags
that need to be returned to the flag barn, please do so this
week so we can take an accurate inventory of our flags. We ran
short of flags on our last flag day.
Our program this week was
brought by Phyllis Burkett, who has been Director of the
Craighead County and Jonesboro Public Library for the past 25
years. Miss Burkett talked about the many programs and
activities the public libraries have to offer. Computers for the
public and internet use has been greatly expanded during the
past 5 years bringing public libraries into the 21st
century.
Next week is business
meeting.
