Our Tail Twister Lion Brad Baker
drew his own number 50 and took the Tail Twister’s pot. Lion Bobby
Wood said it reminded him of a rigged Republican election.
Our only guest was Robbie
Redmon, nephew of Lion David Redmon. Our attendance was 22 members
and 1 guest.
In the absence of our secretary
Lion Brad Baker read the minutes of the February 10th
Board of Directors meeting.
Lion Treasurer Vern Drake gave
the financial report which showed a bank balance of $8,343.73 with
$7,244.69 in the Activity Fund and $1,099.04 in the Operating Fund.
Lion Vern advised the club that unless some members get current with
their dues account the club’s Operating Fund balance will be in the
red by next month.
The Board of Directors made a
ruling that any member requesting to be placed on member at large
status must have their dues current and pay $30.00 in advance to go
on member at large status. Their member at large status is to be
reviewed by the board at the end of six months.
Thanks to the Liberty Bank for
the second payment of $1,000 on their pledge of $5,000 to Dyeann’s
House. The finances for Dyeann’s House is going great. We are
looking for a permanent house mother if you know of a lady that
could fill this position advise Lion Ken Helman.
We are only a month away from
the Car Show and sponsors and ads need to be sold this week. Door
prizes and goody bag items also need to be collected. Next week Lion
Vern will have the advanced tickets to sell. Sign up for the number
of tickets you will need to sell. The next meeting of the Car Show
Committee will be March 1st and will meet every Tuesday
thereafter.
Recycle those print cartridges
and cell phones. The club has taken on this recycling project and
will make approximately $1.25 for each cartridge. Turn them into
Lions Charles Hartwig or Ed Larson.
Monday, February 21st
is a flag day for Presidents Day. Lion Mark Poe reminds us to only
take the number of flags needed to run your route. Check the up to
date lists in the barn for the correct number of flags on your
route.
Our program next week will be
Mr. Brian Wadley, Administrative Assistant for the Mayor of
Jonesboro.
