Lion Tamer Eric Grant (#14) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.

Our attendance was 17 members plus 5 guests.

Guests included were the winner of the 2009-2010 Lions International Peace Poster Contest, 6th grader in Nettleton Middle School, Tiffani Richards and her parents Tanny and David Richardson and also her Art Teacher Linda Medlock and fellow Art Teacher Laura Shepherd, who is also the daughter of Lion Al Frankenberger.

Tiffani’s poster won 1st place at NMS and 3rd place in the District 7-0 contest for which she was awarded $20.00 prize money.  “Power of Peace” was the theme of Tiffani’s poster.

This was our regular monthly business meeting.  Lion Secretary Pat read the minutes of the February 11th Board of Directors meeting and Lion Treasurer Ron gave the financial report which stated a bank balance of $15,168.82 with $11,268.06 in the Activity Fund and $3,900.76 in the Operating Fund.  It was noted that our pecan sales gave the club a net income of $8,344.82 plus a few dollars more to come in.  A BIG ROAR goes to Lion Bill Dickens for his hard work on the Pecan Sale project.

The next Car Show Committee meeting will be next Tuesday, February 23, at 6:30 PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene.  All Car Show Committee members need to attend this important meeting.  Car Show sponsorships need to be turned in by Friday Feb. 19, to get included in media planning.

April 16 & 17 are the dates for Mid South Lions Sight and Hearing Lions Leadership Conference.  This is a good time to actually see what goes on at Mid South and visit the Hamilton Eye Clinic on Friday.

April 23 & 24 are the dates for the Arkansas Lions State Convention in Little Rock.  We are entitled to 3 votes (32 members) at the convention.  If you plan to attend, please advise Lion Secretary Pat.

Thanks to Lions Bill Levins and Pat Snodgrass for the new mike and amplifier for our podium.

The club voted to purchase 10 eye glass collection boxes to be placed in offices and businesses in Jonesboro.

Our program next week will be from the ASU Museum.  Bring a guest or prospective member
