Lion Daniel Shimasaki (#5) was absent and Lion Larry Hinck (#28) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the second drawing. Our attendance this week was 21 members plus 3 guests.

Guests this week were David Hamilton, Lindsey and David Utley (daughter and son-in-law of Lion Brad Baker). David Hamilton has been approved for membership. He was sponsored by Lion Brad.

In the absence of President Ron Erwin, 1st Vice President Randy Dent presided. Please remember Lion Ron and Linda Erwin in your prayers as she undergoes medical treatment in Fayetteville.

The Car Show registrations and sponsorships are coming in good. As of Tuesday, we have signed up 12 sponsors totaling $11,000. We need more sponsors, goody bag stuff and door prizes. Every member needs to get involved in OUR CAR SHOW. The next meeting of the car show committee will be March 10th at Forest Home Church of the Nazarene at 7:00 PM.

Lion Brad Baker, CEO of Mid-South Lions Sight & Hearing Service, gave us a most informative program concerning the operations and the miracles performed at Mid-South giving the gifts of sight and hearing to those persons in need. Mid-South has just recently moved to new facilities located at the new Hamilton Eye Institute at 930 Madison Ave. The new facility has 2,500 sq. ft. and secured a 5 year lease for the total sum of only $50.00. The Lions Leadership Weekend at Mid-South will be April 11 - 12. Every Lion is urged to attend, especially any Lion who has not ever visited Mid-South. Included in the weekend is a free ticket to see the Memphis Redbirds game on Friday. Consider becoming a Mid-South Lions Booster Club member by making a yearly donation of $25.00 or more.

Next Tuesday, March 4, we will meet at Western Sizzlin at 6:00 PM. There will not be a breakfast meeting that day. Our program will be brought by the Kissingers - Laura talking about our Peace Poster Contest with honors going to the participants and also ASU Coach Keith Kissinger talking about the 2008 Baseball team. This is an excellent time to invite that prospective member as a guest. The club pays for dinner off the food bar.
