Lion David Redmon (#34) was the winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.

Guests this week were Louie Ulmer, father of Lion Bryan Ulmer, Caleb Finley, guest of Lion Tony Bari, Gary Casey, guest of Lion Ron Erwin, Mary Hartwig, Bradley Hall and Robert Hall, all guests of Lion Charles Hartwig. Also, Anthony Bartels was a late arrival guest. We had 24 members in attendance.

Lion Charles Hartwig gave us a most interesting talk with videos on his and Mary’s trip to South Africa and Namibia, formerly known as German Southwest Africa when most of us studied geography in grade school. The title of his presentation was "South Africa Today: Myth & Reality". Usually when we think of Africa we think of thatched huts with lions and elephants running around. The pictures Lion Charles had were that of a beautiful country and the only lions we saw were a childrens’ hospital sponsored by the Lions Club of Windhoek, Namibia. Great program Lion Charles.

Lion Tony Bari is our program chairman for the month of March. Thanks to Lion Bobby Wood for the excellent programs for the month of February.

Sign up sheets were available last Tuesday for Car Show workers Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 23, 24, & 25. We need workers on each of these days. Please sign up next Tuesday on the days you can work. Also, we will have show tickets to sell. Lion Tommy White will be our advanced ticket sale chairman. Goody bag stuffers and door prizes are also needed.

If you wish to attend the 90th Annual Lions Clubs International Convention in Chicago on July
2 - 6, there is a registration form in your Lion Magazine March issue on page 35. Attending a Lions International Convention is quite an experience and a good family vacation. There are many sights to see in Chicago and a Lions Convention is a family orientated event. Read about touring Chicago during the convention in the February and March issues of Lions magazine

Our Board of Directors meeting for March will be March 15 at 6:30 AM at H T Ponders restaurant on Gee Street. Every member is welcome to attend..
