Lions Mark Poe (#21) and Don Vineyard (#18) were absent and Lion Donnie Kissinger won the Tail Twisterís pot on the third drawing. Attendance was 19 members plus 4 guests.
Mr. Tom Morgan was a guest of Lion Donnie Kissinger, Jerry Casteel was a guest of Lion Bill Levins and Lion Javaine Furnatter from the Jonesboro Lions Club was a guest of Lion President Brad Baker.
Lion Javaine presented our club a check in the amount of $1000 for our clubs proceeds from the Lions Club TV Auction. The TV Auction had a total income of $12,181 less approximate expenses of $2000.
The next meeting for the Car Show Committee will be Tuesday, March 8, at the Forest Home Church at 6:30 PM. To date we have 55 cars plus 7 vendor booths registered. We will stuff the goody bags on March 22 at 6:30 PM at Farmers Union Funeral Home. We need all items for the goody bags and door prizes collected by March 22. Alyse Eady, 2010 Miss Arkansas, will be at our car show from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Saturday. Also, our Miss Arkansas State will be at our car show.
Dr. Jennifer Bouldin, Assistant Professor of Environmental Biology and Director of Arkansas State Universityís Ecotoxicology Research Facility was our speaker this week. She talked about the research for US EPA toxicity testing for the detection of aqueous contaminants in streams and rivers of our area.
