Shalini Dave, a third year
student at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and a
member of the Student Volunteers in Optometric Services to
Humanity ( SVOSH), talked to UH Lions Tuesday about SVOSH and a
planned “mission” trip to Haiti.
Miss Dave was introduced by
Lion Charles Hartwig, PHD.
The club presented a $500 check
to Dave to help with trip and other expenses as well as two
boxes of donated eyeglasses the students will process and
present to Hatians during the trip.

Man” Watkins called the meeting to order at 6:50 a.m. at Chef's
In and before David’s talk, Lion Tail twister Bill Dickens did
his thing and awarded the “pot” to Lion Pat Snodgrass, badge
number 31. Donnie Kissinger led the song and Curt Hodges the
pledge followed by Ron McCormick’s prayer.
Members were reminded of the
Car Show Committee meeting Monday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the
Suddenlink Media offices on Stone Street.
There were 15 members, one
guest Rick Barker who signed up for membership (celebration) and
the speaker. Adjournment was at 7:35 a.m.
