Tuesday - March 15, 2005
Lions Kevin Reed (#49) and
Charles Reeves (#41) were both absent and the Tail Twister Lion
Tony Bari (#10) took the pot.
Our only guest this week was
Lion Hubert Bittle from the Nettleton Club. Our attendance was
24 members and one guest.
This being our regular
monthly business meeting, the Secretary read the minutes on the
March 10th Board of Directors meeting and the
Treasurer gave his financial report. The club’s bank balance, as
of Feb. 28, was $11,639.20, with $377.52 in the Operating Fund
and $11,261.68 in the Activity Fund.
PID Lion Scott Rennels and
Lion Charles Hartwig attended the Lions Day at the United
Nations in New York last week. Lion Scott gave a report of their
activities at the U.N. There were 752 Lions from all parts of
the world attending this event which was also the 60th
anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Lions
International has always had representation at the United
Nations. Lions Day, at the U N, is an annual event and one that
perhaps more of our club members could attend in the future.
Well, this is the weekend we
have been working towards for the past 4 or 5 months. Our car
show is this weekend and we need every member at the Convocation
Center working. As of Tuesday, we need several more people
taking up tickets on Saturday & Sunday. We also can use some
more door prizes. Bring them to the Convocation Center, Friday
or Saturday. We are expecting 150 cars in our show this year.
The Car Show Committee has done a great job this year in
planning the show. Let’s give them our support by helping
Saturday and Sunday.
Scheduled speakers:
March 22 - Judge David Laser
- Drug Court
March 29 - Mr. Jim Dean -
Boy Scouts of America
