Lions Brad Carson (#44) and Don Vineyard (#18) were absent and Lion Secretary Charles Hartwig won the Tail Twister’s pot on the third drawing. There were no guests.
Lion Vern advises we now have 93 cars, 1 motorcycle and 8 vendor booths registered for our car show. Next Tuesday we will have a sign-up work sheet to sign up workers for the show. All members need to work three to four hour shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We will stuff the goody bags next Tuesday March 22, at the Farmers Union Funeral Home at 6:30 PM. This will be the last car show committee meeting before the show on Friday.
This was our monthly business meeting with our secretary reading the minutes of the March 10 Board of Directors meeting and our Treasurer giving the financial report. As of February 28, our bank balance was $25,333.76, with $22,281.10 in the Activity Fund and $3,052.66 in the Operating Fund.
Remember to put April 8 & 9 on you calendar for the Lions Leadership Weekend in Memphis with Mid South Lions Sight and Hearing Service. You will learn a lot about the miracles Mid South gives to restore sight and hearing to people at no charge.
Our Lions State Convention will be in Jonesboro on May 13 & 14. There will be upwards of 200 or more Lions from all over Arkansas attending the convention. We need to have a good representation from our club attending the state convention. The Holiday Inn will be the headquarters motel.
White Cane Days will be after the state convention.
It was reported by Lions International that 5 million dollars has been sent to the Lions Clubs in Japan by LCIF for disaster relief.
Our speaker for next Tuesday will be Vicki Crego, Director of the Women’s Crisis Center of NE Arkansas.
