Lion Earnie Larson (#40) was
absent and Lion Jim Mashburn (#2) won the Tail Twister’s pot
on the second drawing.
Guests this week were
Jerry Allison, a guest of Lion Pat Snodgrass, Payton Glisson a
guest of his father Lion Gary Glisson and two visiting Lions
from the Nettleton Lions Club Lions Hubert Bittle and Roy
Patterson, guests of Lion Bill Dickens. There was 27 members
and 5 guests present.
We had another great car
show this past weekend. A big Lions Roar goes to the Car Show
Committee and every member who worked Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. We had 139 cars or motor cycles registered and several
vendors. Lion Brad estimates the net income to be
approximately $10,000. The final recap should be available by
our Board of Directors meeting on April 8th.
Lion Ken Helman advises we
will have an Open House at Dyeann’s House on Saturday, April
17th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Nettleton Lions
Club made a $100.00 contribution to Dyeann’s House this week.
Our program this week was
brought by Mr. Bob Williams, director of the Jonesboro YMCA.
Mr. Williams has been associated with the Jonesboro YMCA for
the past 17 years. He talked about the various programs
available at the Y and the great work they are doing with the
youth of our town and surrounding communities. We are most
fortunate to have the YMCA in Jonesboro.
Next week our program will
be Coach Bryan Boyer and the 2003-4 Lady Indian Basketball
Team as out guests. You will want to come and congratulate out
Lady Indians on a most successful season.
Mr. Phil Taylor, Director
of Abilities Unlimited will be our speaker on April 6th.
Business meeting will be April 13th.
