Lion Eric Grant (#14) was the winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing. Guests were Lana Baker, Payton Glisson, and David Redmon, Jr., all guests of their fathers Lions Brad Baker, Gary Glisson and David Redmon. Attendance was 23 members and 3 guests.
 
Lion Brad Baker, Car Show Chairman, gave a brief report on the Car Show and thanked all members who worked, in anyway, for the most successful car show in several years. Attendance was 3,356 paid participants and a net income of approximately $16,700. Club participation was excellent. If you have any advance ticket money, please turn it in to Lion Randy Dent.
 
It will soon be time to elect new officers with election on April 18. Lion Eric Grant is chairman of the nominating committee with the past presidents serving on the committee. If you would like to serve your club as an officer for 2006-07, please advise Lion Eric or one of the past presidents of your choice.
 
Dyeann’s House Board of Directors will meet Thursday, March 30 at 6:30 PM at Dyeann’s House.
 
The club received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Salvation Army for our participation in the bell ringing campaign for the Salvation Army.
 
Our program this week was given by our own Lion Charles Hartwig. Lion Charles and Past International Director Scott Rennels attended the Lions Day at the United Nations last March in New York City. It was the 60th Anniversary of the U N and Lions International has been an advisory organization for the U N since its inception. Lion Charles talked about their visit to the U N and conversing with Lions throughout the world.
 
The Trumann Lions Club will have a Charity Golf Classic played in memory of Lion L.B. Baker. This will be a One-Day Two-Person, 27 Hole Event on Saturday, April 29th at the Trumann Country Club. Cost is $100 per team which includes 9-Hole Scramble, Lunch, Flight Teams and Afternoon 18 Hole Scramble. Many prizes will be awarded. Call for reservations to Jan Brune (268-0901) or Sharon Turman (483-1098).
 
Lion Ron Erwin will be our program chairman for the month of April. He has the following programs scheduled:
April 4 Ensign Andrew Brown, U S Navy pilot and graduate of U S Naval Academy
April 11 Dr. Dick Freer, Associate Professor of Social Work, ASU
April 18 Business meeting and election
April 25 Joel Gardner, Director of Jonesboro Area Transit Service.
