Lion Joe George (#47) was absent and Lion Tony Bari (#10) won the pot (another Tail Twister). Our attendance was 20 members plus 4 visitors. Shirley Park and David Redmon Jr. were guests.
Welcome to our newest club members – Ron McCormick and Bob Draper. Lion Ron is employed by Suddenlink and is sponsored by Lion Jim Wilkins. Lion Bob is employed with the American Red Cross Blood services and is sponsored by Lion Jim Mashburn. Both of these new Lions worked several hours at the Car Show last weekend.
Thanks to the great member participation, we had a successful Car Show this past weekend. We had a total of 156 cars and trucks, 7 motorcycles and 4 vendor booths.
Our program this week was brought by Sandra Taylor and Korley Martin with the Craighead County Election Commission. The Craighead County Election Commission is responsible for overseeing and operating all county elections for local, county, state and federal offices. The next election will be May 18 for the primary election. The commission is now recruiting poll workers. Early voting takes place 1-2 weeks prior to an election date. Craighead County operates 23 precincts at 21 polling places and early voting locations at the Jonesboro and Lake City Courthouses.
