Lion Jerry Garrett, Lucky #7,
won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.
It appeared this week that
daylight saving time, with our clocks being advanced one hour,
affected our attendance. We had 27 die hard members in
attendance.
Lion Bill Hester is home
recovering from a colon problem. Remember him in your prayers
this week.
Dyeann’s House got some
good publicity this week with the Occasions magazine
carrying a feature article about our Lions project with PID
Scott Rennels being interviewed. Lion Scott advises that we
have received confirmation from Lions International that we
will receive a $75,000 grant from Lions Club International
Foundation for our Dyeann’s House project. Also, we received a
$1,000 check from Liberty Bank as a first payment on a five
year pledge of $5,000.
On Saturday, April 17th,
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Dyeann’s House will have an Open
House.
Mayor Brodell will make a
proclamation with ribbon cutting and unveiling at 10:00 AM,
with the closing of Flint Street for two hours. There will be
face painting, balloon imaging, tours, fun and fellowship with
food and drink. Come see Spuds the Clown, The Lion King and
balloon release at 2:00 PM. Every member needs to come and
show off our facility. Lionesses we need you to prepare lots
of cookies for this event. Drinks will be furnished by Pepsi
Cola and Triple F.M. Radio will furnish the hot dogs.
Frito-Lay will furnish the chips. Come out for the fun
Saturday, April 17th.
Our program this week was

associated with Abilities Unlimited for the past 32 years. It
was started by the Jonesboro Jaycees 40 years ago and our
