Lion Ken Stallings (#58) was absent and Lion Ron Erwin (#24) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the second drawing.
Attendance was 18 members plus 3 guests. David Redmon, Jr. was a guest of his father Lion Dave Redmon.
There will be a final meeting of the 2010 Car Show Committee next Tuesday April 13 at 6:30 PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. We hope to have the final figures from the Car Show Project next week.
The Board of Directors will meet at Ann’s Restaurant next Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 AM. All board members, including the newly elected members, should attend.
Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Service will be having its annual Lions Leadership Weekend next Friday and Saturday, April 16 & 17. Attend on either day or both. You will see how Mid-South performs “a miracle a day”.
The Arkansas Lions State Convention will be in Little Rock at the Airport Holiday Inn on April 24. We have 4 members who plan to attend. Some important issues such as re-districting the clubs from 4 districts to only 2 districts. Also, the state council is asking for clubs interested in placing a bid for the 2011, 2012, and 2013 MD7 State Convention. It has been several years since the state convention has been in Jonesboro.
Our condolences and prayers go out to Lion Bill Dickens and his family for the passing of his son-in-law.
Our program this week was brought by former Lion Dennis Calaway and Chris Holbrook with the Messiah Ministries in Brookland. Messiah Ministries is a Spiritual Training Center which takes men 18 or older and provides a beneficial living environment in a small Christian Community. The Community provides biblical, spirituality, and discipleship training for young men who are desperate to seek God as their answer to life’s problems. Messiah Ministries is also sponsoring a Spring Gold tournament at The Links on Saturday, May 22nd.
