Lion Jim Hall (#19)
was absent and Lion Vern Drake (#13) was the winner
of the Tail Twister’s pot. Our attendance was 17
members plus 1 guest.
Norine Westerbeck congratulated our club for
sponsoring the two Leo Clubs at Valley View Schools
and presented Past District Governor Pat Snodgrass
with a Lions International Appreciation Award for
his work in organizing the two Leo Clubs. The High
School Leo Club had their induction ceremony last
week. Work on forming another Leo Club in Manila is
now being done.
The Club received a
thank you message from Mary Lou Wood acknowledging
our memorial gifts to Lions World Services for the
Blind, Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing, Arkansas
Lion Eye Bank and Dyeann’s House in the name of Lion
A Certificate of
Appreciation from the Salvation Army was received
for helping with the Christmas Bell Ringing by our

regular monthly business meeting the minutes of the
April 10 Board of Directors meeting were read by
Lion Vern Drake and Lion Tommy White gave the club
financial report. As of March 31, our bank balance
was $28,863.98 with $4,221.97 in the Operating Fund
and $24,642.01 in the Activity Fund.
A tabulation of the
zip codes of those registered at the car show was
more than 100 different zip codes out of 1142
participants who registered their zip codes.

It has been
suggested that we set the Month of May to be
designated as Membership Recruitment Month and every
member invite a prospective member to visit our club
with a goal of at least 10 new or reinstated members
by June 24.
