Lion Tommy White
(#25) was the winner of the Tail Twisterís pot on
the first drawing. Our attendance was good with 22
members plus 6 visitors present. It was good to see
Lion Leon Lee back in our den.
Guests were Chris
Hutt, a pharmacy student, guest of Lion Tony Bari,
Lona Baker was a guest of her father Lion Brad
Baker, Travis Bailey and Mollie Broadway,
co-founders of ASUís new Pre-Optometry Club, guests
of Lion Charles Hartwig.
Our Dyeannís House
is sponsoring a fund raiser by selling chances on a
Holland Apex Grill with a value of $899.00. The
tickets will sell for $10.00 as a donation to
Dyeannís House and you do not need to be present to
win. The drawing will be June 30, 2008. Each member
is requested to sell 10 tickets or more. See Lion
Pat Snodgrass for tickets. Some maintenance work
such as roof repair and basement ceiling replacement
are needed now.
The Club received a
letter of thanks from the American Legion Ladies
Auxiliary for our funding of one girl to Girls State
Mr. Clyde Knight
was our speaker this week representing Mid-South
Health Systems. Mid-South Health Systems is our
community Mental Health Center serving 7 counties in
Northeast Arkansas with mental health services for
children, adults, and seniors. It is located at 2707
Browns Lane in Jonesboro.
Board of Directors
meeting will be May 8. Business meeting will be May
Membership Month of May. Letís get those new members
or reinstated members into our club with a goal of
10 by June 24.
