Our newest member Lion Jim Watkins (#54) won the Tail Twisterís pot on the first drawing.  Our attendance  was 18 members plus 3 guests.

Guests were Lion Robert Bahn, a guest of Lion Tommy White and Rev. Jerry Wilcox, a guest of Lion Charles Hartwig and Past District Governor Norene Westerbeck.

Past District Governor Norene Westerbeck presented a certificate of appreciation to the club for our gift to the Camp for Blind Children in Hot Springs.  Lion Norene gave a brief report about the National Camp for Blind Children and the opportunities for blind children to participate in the week long camp each year in Hot Springs.  She advised the Fountain Lake School and the Hot Springs Village Lions Club provide the lodging and assistance in the operation of the camp.

Our two newest Lions were duly installed into the membership of our club.  Lions Jim Watkins and Al Vincent were sponsored by Lions Jim Mashburn and Pat Snodgrass.  Lion Brad Baker was the installing officer.  Lion Jim Watkins is a sales representative for Suddenlink Media and Lion Al Vincent is the owner and cook for our meeting place, Alís Family Restaurant.  We welcome each of these new members to our club.

Lion President Vern announced the Lion of the Quarter to be Lion Brad Baker for his leadership and work on our recent Car Show.  Congratulations Lion Brad.

We have two Flag Days in the month of May.  Armed Forces Day is Saturday, May 16, and Memorial Day is Monday, May 25.  We still have several businesses that need to be contacted for delinquent service fees of $35.00.  This is also a good time to sign up new subscribers to our flag service.

Next Tuesday, May 5, our program will be Lt. Col. Jeffrey Helms, Professor of Military Science and head of the ROTC program at ASU.  He will be speaking about ROTC.
