Lion Curt Hodges (#8) was the winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.  Our attendance was 19 members plus 2 guests.

Guests were Rev. Jerry Wilcox, guest of Lion Pat Snodgrass, and David Redmon, a guest of his father, Lion David Redmon.

This Saturday, May 16, there will be a work day at Dyeann’s House for yard and outside clean up work, starting at 9:00 AM.  Bring your own yard tools.

This Saturday , weather permitting, is also a flag day for Armed Forces Day.  Remember we don’t put out the flags if there is a 50% or more chance of rain.  Lion Pat states that we have 50 new flags to be installed on poles.  We will need to have a flag party to mount the flags on poles.  We still have several flag customers who have not paid their $35.00 subscription fee.

Remember Lion Ken Stallings with a call or card and your prayers for a quick recovery from back pain and disc trouble.

Our Lions Club Installation of New Officers banquet will be June 30.  Time and place will be announced later.  This will be a ladies night and all members, especially the new officers, need to be present.

Our speaker this week was Mr. George Johnson, with the Craighead County Environmental Services.  Mr. Johnson talked about the EPA and Flood Control in Craighead County.  He stated that 1,000,000 pounds of trash is collected per day in Jonesboro.  His duties include the enforcement of illegal dumping in Craighead County with fines to those persons who dump trash illegally.
