Lion
Ken Helman (#61) won the Tail Twister’s
pot this week on the first drawing.
There
were 23 members present with no guests.
This
week is White Cane Days working at the
Highland Drive Wal-Mart Store on
Thursday and Friday from 3:00 until 9:00
PM. There are still some slots open for
workers. If you can work anytime, call
Lion Gary Glisson at 870 897-1899.
Monday
is Memorial Day and weather permitting,
we will fly the flags. Lion Pat
Snodgrass is our Flag Committee
chairman. If you notice a flag that
needs cleaning or repairs, please put it
in the designated place in the flag barn
to be repaired or cleaned.
Our
speaker this week was Mr. Jason Whitley,
Manager of The Mall at Turtle Creek. Mr.
Whitley is from Panama City, FL and has
been associated with several mall
operations. The $107,000,000 Turtle
Creek Mall has 80 vendors with 12 to 15
more coming soon. The 750,000 sq ft Mall
was the only mall built in the United
States in the past 3 years. Jonesboro is
most fortunate to have such a shopping
center as the Turtle Creek Mall.
Our
speaker next week will be Dr. Al
Langlois, ASU Professor with his witty
stories about South Louisiana Cajun
people.
