Lion Bryan Ulmer (56) was
absent, maybe he is still on his honeymoon, and Lion Bill
Hester (60) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the second
drawing.
Guests this week were
Mr. Paul Pierce with United Medical was a guest of Lion
Tommy White. Also Mr. John W. Putt, III and Ken Brunt were
visitors accompanying the speaker. There were 25 members
present.
Lion President Eric
Grant was in Oklahoma visiting his ailing parents. Remember
Liion Eric and his parents in your prayers. Lion Bill Levins
presided over the meeting in the absence of our President.
District Governor Pat
Snodgrass announced there will be an Officers Training
session to be held in Newport on Saturday June 18th.
This is open to all Lions and especially newly elected Lions
officers. See Lion Pat for more information.
Our program this week
was given by Mr. Jim Lagrone, Candidate for Arkansas Lt.
Governor. Jim was originally from Trumann and graduated from
Arkansas State University. He has been the Pastor of
Bryant’s First Southern Baptist Church since 1989 and was
President of the Arkansas Baptist Convention.
Remember Monday May 30th
is a flag day for Memorial Day. Lets have all our flag
routes covered for the holiday.
Next Tuesday our program
will be about the Jonesboro Church Health Center and the
annual preach drive supporting the Church Health Center.
