Lion Larry Hinck (#28) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing and donated the funds to Helping Neighbors Food Pantry.
Our attendance was 20 members plus 2 guests.
We will fly the flags next Monday, May 31, for Memorial Day. Remember we do not put out the flags if there is a 50% or more chance of rain.
This is a good time to contact those flag subscribers who are in arrears with their donations. Also, sell new subscribers - $35.00 per location.
Our speakers this week were Mr. Roy Coble and Mr. Stuart Davis talking about the Helping Neighbors Food Pantry. Helping Neighbors began operations in the spring of 1995 to provide food to those citizens in need. The Pantry is staffed and managed entirely by volunteers. Since it opened its doors, Helping Neighbors, has provided area residents in need with well over 3.6 million pounds of food. Our own Lion Larry Hinck and his Lioness Carol are volunteers for Helping Hands and our club has supported the Pantry with funds. Their motto is “Feed The Need.”
Next week, June 1st, we will have Mayor Harold Perrin and Gary Harpole as guest speakers with 2 other chiefs to answer questions concerning the proposed city sales tax. Let’s have a good attendance for our Mayor. Invite a guest or prospective member and our members-at-large.
