Former Lion Daniel Shimasaki (#5) was absent and Lion Brad Baker (#50) won the pot. Attendance was 19 members and two guests. Lucus Jennings was the guest of Lions Don and Tommy and John Ward was a guest of Tommy.
Dave pledged, Don sang, Ron prayed and Bill tail twisted.
A Get Well card was passed around for one of our favorite Lions, Ed Larson. He is not doing well and needs all of our prayers.
Our next flag day will be Saturday, June 14, for U S Flag Day. A few routes are still open, so consider signing up next Tuesday.
We still have Holland Apex Grill tickets to sell. The drawing will be June 30. Each member is asked to sell at least 10 tickets. Lion Pat Snodgrass has the tickets.
The date for our Awards and Installation of new Officers has been changed to June 24 at 6:30 PM at the Whole Hog Restaurant. The buffet dinner will cost $9.00. Put this date on your calendar. There will not be a breakfast meeting on that day.
The Mid-South Auction has been postponed until August 8. Our club buys a table. Let Lion Brad know if you are interested.
The club received a Thank You card from LWSB for our contribution.
Representatives from FEMA had to cancel their program because of they are still working to help people in need following the recent storms. Our program was by Wes Eddington accompanied by his wife Debbie who are also engaged in the work of helping people. Wes is President of the Volunteer Council of the Jonesboro Human Development Center. The former Childrenís Colony serves 115 residents and provides residential, educational and medical support. They always need volunteers to serve as mentors. Their fund raising activities include the sale of Poinsettia at Christmas and spring flower arrangements.
