Lion Tail Twister Bill Dickens (#38) was the winner of the pot and rolled it over to the club.
Our attendance was 19 members with no guests.
Continue to pray for Lion Ed Larson. A phone call to Lioness Alice would be appreciated. Their phone number is 935-1519.
This being our monthly business meeting, the minutes of the June 12 Board of Directors meeting were read by Lion PDG Pat Snodgrass. Lion Vern Drake read the financial report. As of March 31, our bank balance was $13,272.49 with $4,801.23 in the Operating Fund and $8,471.26 in the Activity Fund.
The Awards and Installation of New Officers Banquet will be next Tuesday evening at The Wild Hog Restaurant at 6:30 PM. A motion was made and passed to have the club foot the expense for the banquet. There will not be any extra charge for members and their guests for the dinner. With a balance of $4,800 in the Operating Fund, it was decided that the club could well afford the extra meal cost of the banquet. So, letís have 100% attendance for the Awards and Installation Banquet. Call Lion Ron Erwin if you have not signed up to attend. There will not be a breakfast meeting that morning.
All members are asked to bring a sack of canned goods to be donated to The Helping Neighbors Food Pantry to the banquet next Tuesday. They are especially in need of peanut butter.
The club received a letter of appreciation from the Director of Leader Dogs for the Blind for our contribution of $750.00. Leader Dogs for the Blind is located in Rochester, Michigan.
Lion Brad Baker will be the installing officer for our installation banquet.
Next week Lions from all over the globe will be traveling to Bangkok, Thailand for the 2008 International Convention, June 23-27. Lions International , as of February 30, 2008, had 1,301,550 members in 44,594 clubs and 751 districts in 202 countries and geographical locations.
Thanks to all those members who worked Flag Day last Saturday. Our next flag day will be Friday, July 4th.
See you Tuesday night. Bring a guest.
