Lions Marvin Schroedel (#8) and Kevin
Reed (#49) were absent and Lion Leon Lee (#11) won the Tail
Twister’s pot. This is the second week in a row that Lion Marvin
has missed winning the pot.
Our only guest this week was Mr. Greg
Chance with KASU. Attendance was 21 plus 2 guests.
Remember next Tuesday, July 29th
we will not have a breakfast meeting. We will have our annual
Awards and Installation Banquet at 6:30 P.M. at Western Sizzlin,
dutch treat. All officers need to attend to be installed by PID
Scott Rennels.
Next Tuesday night Lion Mark Poe will
have the signup sheet available for flag day workers to fly the
flags on Monday, July 5th for Independence Day
observance.
Our program this week was given by
Mr. Curt Huckaby who has been the ASU Rugby Team Coach for the
past 8 years. Coach Huckaby talked about good success the ASU
Rugby Team has experienced the past five years having been in
the top 5 rugby teams in division 2 of college rugby teams.
Our program for July 6th
will be Miss Rachel McKinney, granddaughter of Lion Dale
McKinney. Rachel will talk about her activities at the recent
Girls State which she attended and sponsored by our club. Rachel
will be a senior at Jonesboro High School this fall.
