Lions Joe George (#47) ,
Charles Hartwig (#51), and Brad Carson (#44) were absent and
Lion Tommy White (#25) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the
fourth drawing.
Guests this week were
Lion Hillis Pratt Jr. from Virginia a guest of Lion Bill
Dickens, Beau Honeycutt a guest of Lion Ken Helman and David
Redmon Jr. a guest of his father Lion Dave Redmon. Mrs. Judy
Duncan, Manager for the Arkansas Department of Work Forces
was a guest of Lion Bobby Wood. Attendance this week was 20
members plus 5 guests.
This Thursday, July 7 at
6:30 PM there will be a membership committee meeting at Lion
President Bill Levins home at 2811 Wood Street. All members
are welcome.
Saturday, July 9 there
will be a clean up time at Dyeann’s House from 8:00 - 10:00
AM. This is for general clean up inside the house. We need
six or more good Lions to help!!
Our program this week
was Mrs. Stephanie Joiner with Job Services for Department
of Work Force Services or DWS (name change from Arkansas
Employment Security Department).
Mrs. Joiner talked about
a new program called Arkansas Career Link. This is an
initiative to enhance the development of the Arkansas
workforce and stimulate job growth by providing employers
with trainees at no cost and by providing job seekers
opportunities to explore new industries and jobs while
receiving unemployment benefits.
Next Tuesday our speaker
will be Mrs. Barbara Pitcock, Director of Services at The
Learning Center.
