Lion Bryan Ulmer (#56) was
absent and ye olde bulletin editor won the pot on the second
drawing.
Thanks to all those Lions
who worked flag routes last Monday. Lion Mark Poe advises we
were short of flags Monday, so if you know of any of our flags
that are not in our flag barn, please return them before our
next flag day.
Attention all golfers: On
Saturday, July 31st, there will be a golf tournament
at the Links with all proceeds going to our Dyeann’s House. Cost
of the Robert Dock Memorial tournament will be $80.00 for 18
holes including cart and dinner. See Lion Ken Helman if you wish
to participate.
Our next board of directors
meeting will be Thursday, July 15 at 6:30 AM at the Cracker
Barrel Restaurant. This will be the first meeting of the new
board of directors under our new president Lion Eric Grant. All
board members need to attend, plus any other member who may need
a make-up meeting.
Our attendance the past four
weeks has been really lacking. This past Tuesday, we only had 19
members and no guests present. Let’s make a special effort to
attend meetings regularly and invite guests. We had 4 members
attending the International Convention in Detroit.
Lion Bill Dickens was our
program this week. Lion Bill talked about his business, The
Cache Beauty Supply Co. Lion Bill told how he and his brother,
Joe, changed the way their business operated through the
internet. The business has been in operation since 1964. Bill
and Joe bought the business in 1975. They went on the Internet
in 1993 and developed their first web site in 1996. They have
expanded their business tremendously since 1993. They currently
sell to customers all over the world, shipping out more than 300
orders per week. Their web site is
www.cachebeauty.com
,
selling over 8000 items.
Lion Bobby Wood has the
following programs scheduled for July:
July 13 Drs. William McLean
and Patrick Stewart, ASU Political Science Dept
July 20 Charlie Beliew,
Social Security Administration
July 27 Charles S. (Spud)
Clark, World War II veteran (B-24 pilot)
We have some good programs
lined up. Invite a prospective member as your guest next week.
