At our Tuesday meeting [July 10th] Lion Tamer Eric Grant (#14) AGAIN won the pot.
Attendance was 20 members, one guest, and the speaker.
Lion Vern Drake was presented with a club Appreciation Award plaque by new club President Curt Hodges, in recognition of his years of stellar work, especially on the car show.
Since experience has shown that Flag Contracts are much more likely to be renewed if the statements are hand-delivered, Lion Pat Snodgrass had copies of statements for all routes, and asked that members take then around to the addressees in person.
Greg Watts, founder and President of the Arkansas Rivers Association, presented an informative program about his state-wide organization, which tries to preserve our state’s rivers and streams by focusing on land-use issues by setting up land trusts along rivers.
Since the Chef’s In Downtown Café will be closed next Tuesday [and Monday] at the request of the city, which is paving the parking lot across the street, our next meeting (Tue., July 17th] will be at the Front Page Café, 2117 E. Parker Rd, near the intersection of S. Caraway and Parker Rd. This will be our monthly business meeting--invite a guest and prospective member
