Lion Bill Dickens presided at tail twister. Lion Don led the song, Eric pledged and Bobby prayed.
 
Number 16, Janine Helman won the pot on the first drawing. There were 22 members and one guest present. Guest Dr. James Parker has turned in an application for membership
 
Remember the Board of Directors meeting next Thursday, July 13, at Couch’s Restaurant at 6:30 AM. All new officers and directors need to attend this first meeting of directors meeting to approve budget and committee appointments.
 
Keep Randy Dent in your thoughts. He recently underwent back surgery.
 
Marcy Harrell had his picture in the paper recently. 40 years ago he was installed as president of the Walnut Ridge Lions Club.
 
Our program this week was presented by Darrell Floyd, a member of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol. When they were founded, they were volunteers involved in search and rescue. Each of the 40 member provides his own horse and equipment. Current projects include public relations for the sheriffs office, High School Rodeo, Miracle Rodeo for handicapped children, St. Judes Trail Ride, County Fair Patrols, and The Sheriffs Boys and Girl Ranch.
 
Programs scheduled:
July 18 ASU Athletic Director Dean Lee. Also, a short business meeting
July 25 Area High School Football Coaches
     Jonesboro - James DeVazien
     Nettleton - Donnie Tennison
     Valley View - Randy Coleman
     Westside - Brian Harris
 
Lion Leon Lee is in charge of our program for July, Ron Erwim, Bobby Wood, Tony Bari, and Charles Hartwig will handle programs in August, September, October and November.
