The club sung Happy
Birthday for Lion Marcy Harrell who celebrated his 80th
birthday Tuesday.
David Redmon was a
guest of his father Lion Dave Redmon. Our attendance was
24 members plus 1 guest.
Welcome to our newest
member, Lion Beau Honeycutt sponsored by Lion Ken Helman.
Lion Beau is an ASU graduate employed by Bankers Life and
Casualty Company, his wife’s name is Rebekah and they have
one five year old daughter, Hana. Past District Governor
Pat Snodgrass installed Lion Beau into our club.

Larson read the minutes of the July 14th Board
of Directors meeting and Lion Treasurer gave the June 30th
club financial report which showed a bank balance of
$5,031.76 with the Operating Fund having a balance of
$1,890.71 and The Activity Fund with a balance of
$3,141.05.
The budget for
2005-2006 was presented and approved. The Activity Fund
budget is $42,200 and the Operating Fund budget is
$15,625.
There will be a
District 7-0 District Governor’s Cabinet meeting at
Dyeann’s House Saturday July 30th from 1:00 -
3:00 PM. All Lions are welcome!!
Our president Lion
Bill Levins has set a goal of at least 1 new member per
month or a better goal is "each one get one". Lets all
make a special effort this year to sponsor at least 1 new
member. Membership is the life blood of any Lions Club.
Next week Lion Sharon
Schamber will be visiting our club. She is the President
of the Petal, MS Lions club and a member of Mid-South's
fund-raising committee. She is also the First VP of the
Mississippi Lions Sight Foundation.
Mr. Steve Singleton,
Superintendent of Jonesboro Public Schools will be our
speaker next Tuesday.
