Friday, August 7, is the date of the Mid South Lions Sight and Hearing Service annual auction.  Mid South is in urgent need of funds.  A new initiative has been enacted to raise $150,000 above and beyond the regular yearly contributions Mid South receives for the Lions Clubs in the four state area by December 31.  Reaching this goal is imperative to Mid Southís miracles and will provide service to those in need in our area.  If you can attend the Mid South Auction on August 7, please advise Lion Brad.

Our next flag day will be Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.  If you have any brackets that need attention, please advise Lion Eric Grant.  Also, make an effort to collect any outstanding flag subscriptions that are past due.

Lion Don Vineyard advises we will have a White Cane Day collection on Thursday and Friday, September 17-18.  Every member is needed to have a successful White Cane Day.  Put these dates on your calendar.

Those members who wish to attend the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum should get your registrations in by August 1st.  You can attend any or part of the Forum.  See Lion Brad Baker for more information.  Workers are needed to help with duties to put on the forum.

Our program this week was our own Lion Vern Drake showing pictures and telling about his trip to Alaska this past month of May.  Very interesting and pretty pictures of Alaska.

Thanks to Lion Charles Hartwig for the excellent programs during the month of July.  Lion Ron Erwin is our Program Chairman for the month of August.  If you have any suggestions for programs, please advise our Program Committee which is Lions Tony Bari, Ron Erwin, Charles Hartwig, and Curt Hodges.
