Lion Brad Carson(#44) was absent and Lion Gary Glisson(#9) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the second drawing.

Guests were Mr. Ed Cunningham a guest of Lions Charles Hartwig and Leon Lee, also Chris Hall was a guest of Lion Tommy White, Sean Cockrell a guest of his father in law PID Scott Rennels, Blake Tennison was a guest of Lion Leon Lee and Greg Chance with KASU. Attendance was 24 members and 7 guests.

High School Football was the subject for our program this week with the head coaches from Jonesboro High School, Nettleton High School and Westside High School. Jim Devazier for Jonesboro, Donnie Tennison for Nettleton and Brian Harris for Westside each gave an informative talk on each of their teams and what to expect for the 2004 season. Sean Cockrell and Blake Tennison are both assistant coaches for Westside.

District Governor Pat Snodgrass announced there were 26 Lions in attendance at his cabinet meeting this past Saturday. He also has set the dates for the fall District 7-0 Convention to be September 24 and 25 to be held at the St. Bernards Auditorium. The visiting international officer will be Lions International Director Jules Cote from Shelburne, Vermont. Put this date on your calendar to have a good turnout for our district convention with our club being one of the host clubs.

In the year 1919 there were some far sighted men in Jonesboro that saw fit to organize a Lions Club. The Jonesboro Lions Club is 85 years old and next Monday at their regular noon meeting they are going to celebrate their 85^th anniversary. This will be at the Holiday Inn, Monday August 9^th at noon. Lets have a good delegation to our sponsoring club anniversary meeting.
