THANKS goes to Lion Bill Levins for his work in
printing and getting our club directory up to date
for each member to have. Great Job Lion Bill.
Remember the Board
of Directors meeting next week, Thursday, August 14th
at 6:30 AM at Couch’s Restaurant. This is an
excellent opportunity to make up that missed meeting
for your 100% attendance. Remember missed meetings
should be made up within 10 days either before or
after the missed meeting. Advise our secretary of
made up meetings.
Our program this
week was most informative by Dr. G. Daniel Howard
CGFM. CFRE. ASU Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
and Research. Dr. Howard talked about the
globalization of ASU and bringing the world to ASU.
Projected international student enrollment for the
Fall 2008 is 200 new students and 150 students
returning. Some of the countries from which
substantial members of international students will
attend ASU are India, China, Nepal, Turkey, Saudi
Arabia, Korea, and Japan. The economic impact to
Jonesboro for each 100 international students will
amount to $3.75 million dollars. What can we do to
help this program at ASU - make friends with
international students, encourage others to befriend
international students and become a member of the
Community Friends Program.
August 12 -
Jonesboro Sun Editor, Roy Ockert, speaking about the
role of the media in our community.
August 19 -
August 26 - ASU
Head Football Coach Steve Roberts, talking about the
Red Wolves first season
Invite a guest next
week. Also, invite an MIA member (we have several of
these we are missing each Tuesday morning).
