For a second week in a row, Lion Dave Redmon (#34) won the Tail Twisterís pot on the first drawing. We had 21 members in attendance.
Guests this week were Jerry Wilcox, John Hardin and Lion Hubert Bittle from the Nettleton Lions Club.
Our District Governor Norine Westerbeck is asking for a possible candidate for the office of Vice District Governorís position for 2008-2009. Also, a possible candidate for Board of Lions of Arkansas Foundation for the term 2008-2010. Any member desiring to serve for either of these positions should contact our District Governor.
The District 7-0 Convention will be held in Jonesboro on October 20, 2007 at 9:00 AM at St. Bernardís Auditorium. Our club should have a good delegation to this convention.
The main topic discussed at the Car Show Committee meeting Tuesday was the need for every member to get involved in securing sponsors and vendors for our show. It was decided to group the car entrants into 2 groups as for judging - cars of 1983 and older and 1984 and newer. The price of an adult ticket will be $8.00.
Our club will be sponsoring a team for the annual 2007 Mid South Lions Golf Tournament, Monday September 24 at the Club at North Creek, Southhaven, MS. Advise Lion Brad Baker if you wish to play in the Mid South Lions Golf Tournament.
High School Football was our program this week with coaches from all four area high school football teams. Coach E. T. Daniel from Westside, Coach Jim Devazier from Jonesboro, Coach Randy Coleman from Valley View and Coach Donnie Tennison from Nettleton all gave good talks about their respective 2007 teams and schedules.
Next week is our regular monthly business meeting.
Our August 28 speaker will be Mr. Todd Cartwright with Rice-Tec.
