Lions Ken Stallings
(58), Don Vineyard (18), Leon Lee (11) and Ron Erwin
(24) were all MIA’s this week and Lion Gary Glisson
(9) was the big winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on
the 5th drawing. Our attendance was 20
members and 1 guest.
David Redmon Jr.
was a guest of his father Lion David Redmon.
Welcome to our
newest member- Lion Randy Dent sponsored by Lion
Tommy White was duly installed as a new member into
our club by Past District Governor Pat Snodgrass.
Lion Randy and his wife Jodi resides at2112 Sweet
Gum Dr. in Jonesboro. His phone number is 935-9128
or 972-8080. He is employed with Mid America
Manufacturing.
This was our
regular monthly business meeting, Secretary Ed
Larson read the minutes of the August 11 Board of
Directors meeting and also read the Treasurer’s
report. As of July 31 our bank balance was $4,589.69
with $1,483.61 in the Operating Fund and $3,106.08
in the Activity Fund.
A big Lions Roar
goes to Lion K. Rex Mayfield for signing up two new
flag contracts. Our next two flag days will be
Monday, September 5 for Labor Day and Monday,
September 12 for Patriots Day. Sign up for your
favorite flag route next Tuesday.
Lion Ken Helman
reports that Dyeann’s House recently received some
playground equipment from a family moving from
Jonesboro valued at $3,000 or more. He also advised
of having the carpets cleaned by Holloway Carpet
Cleaners at a reduced cost. Prospective house
parents are currently being interviewed for that
position with Dyeann’s House.
Our speaker next
Tuesday will be Mr. Paul Holmes, speaking on
Northeast Arkansas Business Today.
On August 30 our
speaker will be Jerry Biebesheimer, Director of the
Fowler Center at ASU.
Invite a guest
