Lion Dr. Joe George (#47) was absent and Lion Tony Bari (#10) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the second drawing.

The family of Lion Dale McKinney, Lioness Laura Jane, Rick, Dana, Cameron and Rachel, were our guests this week Attendance was 23 members and 5 guests.

Lion Membership Chairman, Tommy White, has announced dates of our fall membership drive as August 17 thru November 30, 2004. Lion Tommy has set the following goals for the membership drive:

Number of guests 35

Number of Different guests 18

New Members 5

Make a list of friends, neighbors, co-workers, church members, past club members, relatives, etc and carry the list in your billfold to remind you each day to call your prospective member to visit your Lions Club. Our club needs new and re-instated members.

Lion Brad Baker, TV Auction Chairman, has set the date of Saturday, November 6 for our annual TV Auction. The auction will be aired on both channel numbers 14 and 22 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Start collecting items for the auction. As in the past, this will again be a cooperative project of all three Jonesboro Lions Clubs.

Our program this week was given by Rachel McKinney, granddaughter of Dale and Laura Jane McKinney. Rachel attended the 2004 Girls State session in June at Hardin College. Rachel talked about her activities at Girls State and being elected to the office of County Prosecuting Attorney. Rachel is a senior at Jonesboro High School and intends to study for a law degree. There were about 1,000 girls attending Girls State, which has been in existence for 62 years. Our club sponsored Rachel this year.
