Dr. Max Arroyo of St. Bernards Heart and Vascular
Clinic talked about heart diseases, including blockages and
treatments at the Tuesday, Aug. 26 meeting of the UH Lions Club of
The special program on heart disease was introduced
by August program chairman Lion Eric Grant. Other guests from St.
Bernards included Amy Hart, Johnny Sweet and Connie Hill.
After Lion President Jim Watkins start4d tahe meeting
at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Lion Tamer Bill Dickens did what he usually
does and fanagled the other Lion Tamer, Tony Bari into winning the
pot drawing. It’s a rich pot indeed. Tony Led the singing, Norman
Dickson the pledge and Ken Stallings the prayer.
Reminders: Put out flags on Labor Day, Monday, Sept.
1; TV Auction will be Saturday, Dec. 13 (start gathering items for
auction); District 7-0 Convention will be in September and signup is
suggested by Sept. 10.
There were 21 Lions present and four guests. The
meeting was adjourned at 7:32.
The UH Lions meets every Tuesday morning at 6:30m a.m. at Chef’s In
Buffet on Burke (or Cate St.). All members are asked to attend the
gathering and bring a guest or two. Visitors are always welcome—no
reservations are needed.
