Lion Steve Hill (#5) was absent and King Leo Eric Grant (#14) won the Tail Twisterís pot on the second drawing.

Guests this week were Greg Chance with KASU, Miss Lona Baker a guest of her father Lion Brad Baker, John Ward with Farmers Insurance Group a guest of Lion Tommy White and also Chris Hall with a new member application sponsored by Lion Tommy White. Our attendance was 28 members and 5 guests.

As an update to our membership drive which started August 17th we have had 15 guests and 1 new member. The contest will run until November 30th. Bring those guests to our club and encourage new members to join our Lions Club.

It was good to see Lion Kevin Reed back in our den. Lion Kevin has had difficulties making our breakfast meetings caused by an on line course he has been taking each morning of our meetings.

Remember Monday, September 6th is a flag day for Labor Day. As of Tuesday we still have not had a volunteer to work East Nettleton Ave. #2 flag route. If you can work that route call Lion Mark Poe.

Our next Board of Directors meeting will be at Cracker Barrel Restaurant at 6:30 AM September 9th . All club officers and directors need to attend the clubs board meeting. This is where the actual business of the club is conducted. All members are welcome.

Our District 7-0 is needing a candidate for Vice District Governor Elect to be voted on at the District 7-0 Convention in Jonesboro September 25th. This person will serve as Vice District Governor 2005-06 and as District Governor 2006-07. If you would like to serve your district in this capacity advise Lion District Governor Pat Snodgrass.

Our program this week was given by Coach Dickey Nutt, Head Menís Basketball Coach of the ASU Indians. Coach Nutt starts his 19th year at ASU, 8 years as assistant coach and 10 years as head coach os the ASU Indians. Coach Nutt discussed the basketball program at ASU and the players on the 2004-05 team.
