UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS LIONS CLUB

Tuesday - September 1, 2015

Lion President Ron McCormick called the Sept. 1st meeting of the University Heights Lions Club to order at 6:30 a.m. and turned things over to Lion Tail Twister Bill Dickens. After the pot drawing. new member Lion Don Mankin, Badge 61, was announced the winner.

The Song was led by new Lion Don Mankin (a guy with some actural musical talent), the pledge by Lion Ron Erwin and prayer by Lion Jim Watkins.

Meeting guests included La Ganzie Kale staff member of a new educational radio station (sorry, I misplaced his card). He was guest of lion Donnie Kissinger who also had his wife, Kellie Kissinger as guest as well.

Lion Donnie gave a report on ASU Day. Hope y'all all remember the report.
The club extended sympathy to Lion Eric Grant upon the death of his grandson.

We also heard a "good" report on Lion Jim Mashburn and hope to see him back in the den soon.

Flags were put out on Labor Day (Monday) and will be displayed again on Patriots' Day, Sept. 11th.

The program was introduced by Lion Ken Stallings, September Program Chairman. Lion First Vice District Governor Bill Levins talked about Lionism and the need for adding new members, not only in our club, but throughout the state. He pointed out that UH Lions purchase some 150 pairs of glasses for people who need them each year, which is a major local effort.

We had a pretty full house and adjournment was at 7:30am.
