Lions Jim Hall
(#19), Dale McKinney (#1), Dave Redmon (#34) and
Kevin Reed (#49) were all MIA’s this week so
the Tail Twister rolled over the pot to next
Attendance was 18
members present plus our speaker.
Thanks to all
members who worked flag routes Monday for Labor
Day. We may fly the flags again next Thursday,
September 11, for Patriot’s Day. Stand by to
sign up next Tuesday.
The Car Show
Committee will meet next Tuesday, September 9,
at 7:00 PM at Forest Home Church of the
Nazarene. All members of the Car Show Committee
need to attend. The dates for the 2009 Car Show
are April 3, 4, & 5th.
The Board of
Directors meeting will be Thursday, September
11, at Couch’s Restaurant, at 6:30 AM. All
members are invited to attend the Board
Lion Don Vineyard
advises he will have to go on member-at-large
status but will continue to work on the White
Cane, Car Show and Flag projects. We will miss
our Intrepid Song Leader at our meetings.
White Cane Days
have been set for September 25 & 26 at the
WalMart Store on Highland working 1 ½ hour
shifts from 3:00 to 9:00 PM. We will need every
member working to man the two doors at WalMart.
Our speaker this
week was Holly Acebo, Executive Director of NEA
Charitable Foundation and Director of Marketing
for NEA Clinic and NEA Baptist. Holly talked
about the four health programs NEA Clinic is now
sponsoring, namely Center for Healthy Children,
Medicine Assistance Program, Hope Circle and
Wellness Works. NEA Clinic Charitable
Foundation will present a Message of Hope &
Determination by Dick Hoyt of “Team Hoyt”
Tuesday, September 23 at ASU Convocation Center.
