Lion Ken Waymon
(#15) was absent and Lion Ken Helman (#61) won the
Tail Twisterís pot on the second drawing.
Our attendance was
23 members plus 4 guests. Carol Rhein and David
White were guests from the Valley View High School.
They are to be the sponsors for the Leo Club being
organized at Valley View High School. Lion Hubert
Bittle was also a guest from the Jonesboro-Nettleton
Lion Pat Snodgrass
advised that a reorganizational meeting of the
Osceola Lions Club will be this week with 23 members
being signed up.
The Car Show
Committee will meet next Tuesday, September 18 at
the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. All
committee members plus any other Lions need to
Our first evening
meeting of our club will be October 9, with meal and
fellowship, starting at 6:00 PM and program at 6:30
PM. The Board of Directors have agreed to leave the
club membership dues at the present level and the
club will absorb the additional cost of the evening
meal over the amount charged for our breakfast meal.
This will be on a 3 month trial run and then we will
re-evaluate the dues and meals charges at that time.
October 20 is our
District 7-0 Convention to be held in Jonesboro at
the St. Bernardís Auditorium. We will need workers
from our club to help register delegates and set up
the facilities. Lion Pat Snodgrass is the Convention
Our program this
week was Cari G White, Executive Vice President of
the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce. Our
Chamber of Commerce has a membership of 1,244
members. The three main operations of the Chamber is
Membership, Economic Development and Community
Development. Our Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce is
the greatest chamber in the state of Arkansas and
one of the greatest in the nation.
Next Tuesday is our
regular monthly business meeting.
