Tuesday - September
This meeting was
our regular monthly business meeting. In the absence
of our president, Lion Vern Drake presided.
Lion Tommy White
(#25) won the Tail Twisterís pot on the first
drawing. Attendance was 19 members and no guests.
Our heart felt
sympathy goes out to Ken and Linda Stallings and
their family on the tragic death of their son Nate
Stallings. A memorial gift is being made by our club
to the Owen Neil Stallings Medical Foundation Trust.
Tommy White presented the August 31 Financial report
which stated a bank balance of $7,642.34 with the
Operating Fund having $5,012.84 and the Activity
Fund with $2,629.50.
Due to visitation
for the Stallings family, the car show committee has
been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00
PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene.
Our first night
meeting is still scheduled for October 9, with
dinner and fellowship at 6:00 PM and program at 6:30
PM. We have set a goal of 40 people for this
meeting. Lion Brad printed up invitations and
business cards to give to prospective members to be
invited. Letís have a great turnout for our
The 7-0 District
Convention is only one month away for October 19 and
20. There will be a hospitality room at the Quality
Suites off Phillips Drive for which we will need
members from approximately 5:00 to 8:00 PM to meet
and greet Lions arriving for the convention. Also
the business meeting will be Saturday at St.
Bernardís Auditorium from 8:00 to approximately 3:30
PM. Members will be needed to register the delegates
and help set up the facilities and then clean up
after the convention has ended. Volunteer your

Our next Flag Day
is Monday, October 8 in observance of Columbus Day.
