This is White Cane Week. Lion Gary Glisson needs workers for Friday, 2 workers for 3:00-4:30 slots, 1 worker for the 4:30-6:00 slot, 2 workers for the 6:00-7:30 slot and 2 workers for the 7:30- 9:00 slot. Call Lion Gary at 870-897-1899 if you can help Friday.

Lion Mark Poe has passes for the Northeast Arkansas District Fair for any Lion who will work our Dyeannís House booth for an hour or so. Help us to get the story out about our Dyeannís House project.

Lion Brad Baker gave us a suggested auction item list of over 160 items that could be obtained for our auction. We have only 6 weeks left to call on the merchants and businesses for the items we will auction off. Our goal is to raise $9,000 from this auction. We must have the items to have a successful TV Auction. Proceeds from this project will be divided between Mid-South, Dyeannís House and the three Jonesboro Lions Clubs sight funds.

Remember the District 7-0 Convention this Saturday, September 25th starting at 8:30 AM at the St. Bernardís Auditorium. There will also be a reception for our visiting International Director from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Holiday Inn Express on Friday evening. As of Tuesday we had 8 members registered to attend the convention. The club will pay any memberís registration fee.

Our program this week was given by Mrs. Nicole Covey, a teacher and director of the Raider Open Door Academy. Mrs. Covey talked about how successful the Raider Open Door Academy has been for the Nettleton School children attending the charter school under the Nettleton School District. This program is for students in the 4,5,6 grades.

Our program next week will be Julie Watson, Director of the ASU Equine Center.
