At our Tuesday weekly meeting this morning, Vern Drake (lucky #13) had his
number picked and won the pot, after it was determined that Cade Wilson
(#27) was absent.
Attendance was 17 members, one guest (Corey Sanders), and the speaker.
Members were reminded of:
1. Next Tue. being the final sign-up time for official club delegates to
the annual District 7-0 Convention in Trumann on Saturday, Oct. 13. It was
also noted that the Trumann Lions Club will be having a free chicken and BBQ
meal at 6 pm the evening before in honor of the visiting International
Director who will speak to the convention the next day.
2. TV Auction Committee Chair Brad Baker reminded members that the
initial meeting of the Auction Committee will be on Monday, October 8th
[exactly two months before the auction!!] at the Forest Home Church of the
Nazarene on Race Street - at 6:30 pm.
3. Lions of the USA will be recognized at the White House next week as
part of the Champions of Change program, which ".honors everyday Americans
doing extraordinary things in their communities." -
the 11 Lions selected to represent all Lions in the US on Tuesday, October
2nd will be our very own Brad Baker, who will not only be part of a briefing
about projects of mutual interest, but will also get special recognition as
an agent of change. [See

photographer Joey Glaub, who gave a very interesting illustrated talk about
photography today, especially how it has evolved from film to the digital
