Tuesday - September 27, 2005
After the numbers 50, 28, 5, 6 and 19
were called, with no response, the
Tail Twister rolled over the pot to
the club. Lions Brad Baker and Jim
Hall missed the drawing for the funds.
We
again had no visitors and our
attendance was 25 members.
Lion Ken Helman called for a meeting
of the Dyeann’s House board members
today at 6:00 PM. He also suggests
that the club be thinking about the
Christmas party sometime in December -
what day and where. Do we want to have
it at the dinner theater in Pocahontas
where they will be presenting the
Nutcracker play?
President Bill is asking all vice
presidents and any other members to
meet at his house this Thursday at
6:30 PM.
Lion Gary Glisson thanked all the
members who worked White Cane last
week. We had a very successful White
Cane, collecting almost $1,500 for the
two days.
Lion Secretary Ed is taking
reservations for the State Convention
on November 5 at Searcy.
Our program this week was brought by
Danny Honnoll, Commander of the Robert
G. Shaver Camp No. 1655 Sons of
Confederate Veterans. Danny presented
an interesting program about Major
General John Sappington Marmaduke of
whom the town of Marmaduke, Arkansas
was named after. He was a West Point
graduate, Confederate General,
Railroad Commissioner and Governor of
Missouri.
Programs scheduled:
Oct 5 Lion Eric Grant-trip to Costa
Rico slide presentation
Oct 12 Coach Brian Boyer, ASU Women’s
Basketball
Oct 19 Karin Gleisner, visit to Iraq
(daughter of Lion Charles Hartwig)
See you next Tuesday. Bring a guest or
MIA member.
Next flag day is October 10 for
Columbus Day.
Next Board of Directors meeting is
October 13, Couch’s Restaurant, 6:30
AM.
