Lions Ken Waymon
(#15), Dale McKinney (#1) and Cade Wilson (#27) were
all absent and Lion Brad Baker (#50) won the Tail
Twister’s pot on the fourth drawing.
We had 20 members
remember Ken and Linda Stallings in your prayers.
October 8, is Columbus Day and weather permitting,
we will fly the flags. Lion Pat Snodgrass advises
there are several of our flag service subscribers
that are in arrears with their accounts and have
been dropped. When putting out the flags, please
notice the flag route changes.
October 9, is the date that we will meet at 6:00 PM
for our first evening meeting. This is to kick off
our membership drive, so invite prospective members
to this meeting. We would hope to have 40 people
present. Wives and daughters may be some to invite
as prospective members. The club will pick up the
tab for the meals from the food bar.
Board of Directors
meeting will be next Thursday, October 11 at Couch’s
Restaurant at 6:30 AM.
The next Car Show
Committee meeting will be Tuesday,
October 30 at
Forest Home Church of the Nazarene at 7:00 PM.
District 7-0 Convention, October 19 and 20, with the
Friday night Hospitality Room at Quality Suites
Hotel and the Convention business and luncheon at
St. Bernards Auditorium on Saturday.
Our speaker this
week was Sherry Carter representing the Craighead
County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and the Miracle
Rodeo. This is the 10th year for the
Miracle Rodeo to be Saturday, October 27. Workers
are needed to help put on the show and assist the
approximately 100 special needs and handicapped
students that will participate in the simulated
rodeo. Approximately 500 volunteers are needed from
9:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM. Please call Sherry
